Wine Dinners
|
Cafe Kandahar's monthly wine
dinners feature our highest form of creative expression. The cafe
strives to present rare, delectable tastes, and unique wines. We begin
by selecting a modern theme for the cuisine, such as a taste of New
Orleans. We then develop a menu in which each item is thoughtfully
matched to the characteristics of an individual wine, allowing both the
food and wine the opportunity to complement and accentuate each other.
It is through our passion for acheiving a perfect pair that we hope to
enlighten our guests to the art of pairing food and wine.

"These events are fun and
educational, giving us a chance to portray the variety of foods we
offer paired with spectacular wines," said Blanton. "We think
these events provide our guests with an exquisite and truly unique
fine dining experience."

Chef Andy
Blanton attended the Culinary Arts Institute of Louisiana in Baton
Rouge earning an associates degree in culinary arts. His experience
includes Commanders Palace and Brigtsens Restaurants, both recipients
of the coveted James Beard awards, located in New Orleans. For
the past eight years, Blanton has been the Executive Chef of Cafe
Kandahar.
These events are
by reservation only and the restaurant will be closed to the public
during these events.

Chef's Table
For
the ultimate fine dining experience book the Chef’s Table at Cafe
Kandahar for a personal one on one with Executive Chef Andy Blanton. An
exquisite menu will be personally developed and planned for you and
your dinner will be prepared before your eyes in a private room in the
back of the restaurant. This is a unique culinary treat for those
wanting to experience the very best in fine dining. The Chef’s Table
can accommodate from two to six guests. The 5 course menu is $115 per
person, with paired wines $155 pp. The 7 course menu is $140 pp,
with paired wines $195 pp. Advanced reservation required, call 406

Wine Wednesday Cafe Kandahar is proud to offer our guests a 25%
discount on all bottles of wine (except high end varietals) from our
award winning wine list of over 350 selections every Wednesday evening
this summer. Come up and enjoy thoughtfully constructed cuisine
inspired by classic and modern influences and complement it with a
bottle of wine.
Chef's Tasting Menu
Executive
Chef Andy Blanton will feature each evening a 5-course Tasting Menu
from select items offered on the menu. The cost is $70 per person,
paired with wines $105 per person. Guests can make an advanced
reservation for a specially planned and personalized Chef’s Tasting
Menu. It can accommodate up to 40 guests. Likes and dislikes along with
food allergies and dietary concerns will be taken into account. The
cost is $85 per person, with paired wines $125 per person.
